Stop press – Partial PMR results

Right now I am out of town after telling pupil that Almanar would be closed for one week (Pakcik’s turn to have a break too!). All faces grinned at the announcement. And today PMR results were out. A few children have been in touch with Pakcik – naturally the ones with better results!

After enjoying that papaya, the ‘peace offering’ a few days ago, Pakcik am now riding on the cloud nine.

Results known thus far:

FIVE girls are known to have obtained 8A’s, and at least one with 7A’s. Syukur.

I have nothing more to say – not ashamed to admit that my eyes are literally brimming with tears - This is it, my share of joy, my rewards.

Berkhidmat kerana Tuhan untuk kemanusiaan.

--------------------------

P/S Note for Almanar pupils.

Pakcik ucapkan taniah kepada semua yang meduduki PMR. Janganlah kecewa kalaupun bilangan ‘A’ tidak memuaskan. Biarlah apa yang kita dapat kali ini menjadi durongan buat lebih berusaha. Bukan ‘A’ yang menentukan rezeki dan kebahgian kita dimasa depan.

Percayalah kepada NYA dan kudrat NYA
.

Aidah

You yourself have been invilved in giving free tuition long enough to know what it is like.

Dear Pakcik,
Kejayaan murid adalah kejayaan guru juga. (how's my BM?) purrrr....meow!

Khushairi

I think you remember with regret how you enjoyed your 'honeymoon year' and suffered the following year!

What made you ask me about your BM? Of course yours BM is gooder than my English, and my BM is badder than your English! The person to ask about writing is that lady who is busy with her Egyptian ball - I mean the dancing and singing one, of course. You'd be better off sniffing around there.

Seriously, thank you for your compliment.

8 or 7 As is a great success, Akhi Pakcik. I wonder out of how many, probably ten. Remembering that these are disadvantaged students, you really have done a wonderful job and the tears of satisfaction (and gratitude to Allah) speak for itself. Have a good vacation, Akhi.

Congratulations on the good results. Nothing is ever too little especially when it involves a labor of love. It's not the A's that counts but it is how much they have learnt..my philosophy ler. So, kudos to those who made it through..

Akhi Norzah,

There were about fifteen of them who stayed on until form 3. Original number was 40+ but dwindled down! It was a sad picture that so many could not stand the discipline of Almanar, but regretted to see the end results. Thank you for sharing my joy.

Cikgu Rahmah,

You are not a Master Teacher for nothing. I know from your blog how many of your past pupils remember you with respect for what you did for them in their earlier years. I do whatever I can without the tool you possess. You can imagine my feeling. Thank you

Cikgu Rosfida,

I know under your care are many unfortunate children because we are not far from each other. You appreciate what success means to these children although, as we know, A's are not everything. Thank you.

Hairie,

What sort of temperature is now in Moscow? It is not like that in Pak Tuyu. is it? But I cold is something you can overcome because I know what you have gone through in life. I admire you and I quote you often to current Almanar pupils. You cannot fail Pakcik, Hairie. A few days ago I was having lunch with your old buddie, Faizal and met your sister. Faizal is determined to be a male nurse although, since you left, he has been offered other courses. He has a strong reason and I admire him for that. He was proud to tell Pakcik that there were only seventeen of them, males, against over two hundred plus females, and he is among the top performers!

E-mail Pakcik some news and pictures to show how much you have shrunk in the cold!

Congratulation to the students and to the SiFu, Pak Cik Hassan.

NM,

No, I cannot claim that. It has to be the school to begin with, some of the finishig touches, perhaps.

Dear Pakcik,
We rejoice for those successful ones. Those left behind would have to 'fight' for another day. Taking on a 2nd chance to sit again is already 50% success for them.

Al-Manar said...

Akhi Hank,

Most children around me do not see the wisdom of 'another attempt' to improve. They tend to push ahead believing that another attempt to overcome weaknesses is a waste of time.
