This is one of the days that make Pak Cik forget my age and how tired I can be. I have just heard two pieces of good news. Firstly, the person, of whom I wrote in The End Of The Tunnel – In Sight – (Part 3) – It Is His Lucky Day, has obtained all 9A1 in the recent SPM exam. His dream of becoming a doctor is non-stoppable now, insya Allah. I wonder whether his father stops manning his road side ‘sugar cane’ stall to celebrate the day. He stopped for a while yesterday just to send a second daughter to Almanar on his old motorbike.
Secondly, a girl associated with Almanar has obtained 8A1 and 1A2 (in Ugama of all subjects!) in the same nine subjects. Since she has A1 in all the maths and science subjects she may want to consider going for a first-class honours degree in Islamic study, to make good!
I am lost for words on such an occasion as this. Hope there will be more good news coming.
My heartiest congratulations go to all of you my dear.

Dearest Babah,
I'm so proud of you!!!
Lots of love,
Enon
Pak Chik,
Ainon is proud of you. Well, everyone's proud of you.
Me? I'm one lucky guy to have been introduced to you by your daughter.
You have another great admirer from my brother Mahmood.
By the way, the Krepok Lekor Pagar Besi was just as I had expected! Yummy
May Allah grants you continous good health to carry on your deeds.
Alhamdulillah syukur!
Saya tumpang berbangga with the duo's success, in no small measure attributed to you too.. semoga Allah swt sentiasa limpahkan nikmatNya unto your goodself to continue doing this incredible amal.
Enon,
…… and yet, with a sigh, babah failed to make the three of you fly with 9 straight A’s. But Mami and Babah managed to start your lives with 3 straight A’s, Ainun, Anwar and Amran, stringed together to give us ‘ diMATA ku nampak CAHAYA sepanjang HAYAT’ – the greatest gift He has given Mami and Babah. In gratitude for that, every day babah walk across the road separating our house,Nuri, and our school,Almanar, taking along some CAHAYA to light the RUMAH API hoping that some poor children will see the light …. that one day the three of you, too, will help to carry the torch, with love from mami and babah.

ARZ,
Flattery will not make me give you any more keropok for free! I may if you promise to cycle all the way to Batu Rakit as you did. Thank you, Ramli.

Hajjah,
Semoga doa Hajjah yang baru pulang dari Mekah membawa keberkatan. I read with admiration the very well written posting of your trip there, my memories refreshed. Once, many many years ago, I managed to scramble all the way up the hill to the rocks above just to see where Iqra’ was brought to earth. Thank you for your kind words.
My congratulations to anak-anak didik Al-Manar. They are inspiration for the other students too, I'm sure.
Sheikh, is that extra spring in your steps that I see through this cyberspace? a proud glow in your countenance? boundless zeal and zest to keep on going? Yes, indeed...
...... Allah is with those who patiently persevere(Al-Baqarah 152)
Abang Ngah, this is certainly good news and I cant say how proud I am of you. Well done and am sure there will be more good and encouraging stories like this coming out of Al Manar. Love to Kak Mah.
Zebdra,
I thank you for your kind words. The will is strong but the flesh is weak and a spring can break under constant stress and strain over time.

Zaharah;
That Alcott’s Little Women is the type Abang Ngah have been looking for. It may now be one of Almanar’s standard classroom textbooks. It is rich in typical dialogues in English, the very thing the pupils need to practise reading aloud – one very good way to make them coverse in English. Othrwise they sit nodding and shaking their heads. On second thought this book my very well convert Almanar to a play house offering Little Women with a premier show this X’mas! I really appreciate that book. Do not worry about copies as we can mass photo-state it for pea-nuts.
Abang Ngah, I will try to send more. I am glad that those are the kinds of books that you want. Insyaallah - its the least I can do.
Zaharah
Please do not worry about it right now. I have a lot of work to do with the Lttle Women before I can get the children started. For a start I have to go through the book, meticulously underlining words, phrases and sentences that I want the pupils to pay particular attention. Let me see how far this goes. Thanks any way.
Salaam from Kak Mah

DEAREST PAKCIK,
CONGRATULATIONS AND I AM REALLY PROUD OF YOU. WITHOUT YOU, NONE OF THEM CAN SCORE IN SPM.
I AM WONDERING HOW TO MAKE IT HAPPEN TO MY SPM STUDENTS HERE. THE DIFFERENCE IS THAT THE STUDENTS HERE, COMPARED TO THOSE IN YOUR PLACE, HAVE NO INTEREST TO LEARN AND LESS RESPECT DURING PERIOD OF TEACHING. SOMETIMES, I FEEL GUILTY AND DISSAPOINTED BECAUSE I COULDN,T CHANGE THEM.
I WAS SO SAD WITH THEIR WRITING-COULDN,T EXPAND IDEAS AND THE WORST IS IN THEIR GRAMMAR.
HOPE TO KEEP IN TOUCH AND SALAM MAULIDUL RASUL FROM ALL OF US.
Azmi,
You are exaggerating the half-truth!
Please keep in touch.
