Some 25 years ago a pretty girl with fair skin and curly hair was a friend of Pakcik’s daughter at an SMS (boarding school). Since then I have not seen her, now happily married with children. Pakcik was totally taken by surprise this morning when advised that a sizeable sum of money had been credited by her for Almanar.
“What triggered her to perform this charitable act before a Hari Raya?” I keep asking myself. But no, really I do not wish to know the answer. I pray that He will not just grant her what she dreams of but, instead, will bless her with whatever He alone knows is best for her and her family.

Abang Ngah and Kak Mah, Al Manar deserves everything and more.
Selamat hari raya to you and Kak Mah, maaf zahir dan batin and our love to you and kak mah - always! (why cant I say this without tears??)
Hi,
Amran here and I'm back in KT. Al Manar is taking a break from blogging tonight because they have their hands full with their grand children. They send their love to you, uncle Hulaimi and family.
I remember the days of being at Malaysia Hall during raya. How the takbir, without fail would bring tears to my eyes too. It was great to have you both there, familiar faces to make the longing for home somehow more tolerable. I've always regretted not making more an effort to catch up when I was there with Yasmin, instead always just 'bumping' into you here and there. As they say, you take things for granted until you dont have it anymore.
Insya'Allah the last day of puasa tomorrow and Raya the day after. Many many years ago that would mean putting the baju melayu on and jumping on the tube to Marble Arch. There a throng of students would be milling around in their best baju kurungs and and melayus, but with a jacket over them! I can imagine the scene not too different come Sunday morning in London.
Selamat Hari Raya, and maaf zahir & batin.

I agree with Kak Teh that AlManar deserve everything and much more.
I take this opportunity to wish you and the rest of AlManar Selamat Hari Raya Maaf Zahir Batin.
May Allah Bless you Always.

Please reactivate 'sanggsura'. You have had enough rest and gathered enough materials for it. It was one blog that I visited often and how I like to see it gain.
Sealamat Hari Raya
Pakcik Hassan,
It is not just an act of Charity, but more so it is ALLAH's way of showing that you deserve the credit for your passion to serve mankind. May ALLAH S.W.T. bestow His Blessings and Mercies on your family and Al-Manar.

So sorry we're not able to visit you this Raya. Our plan has to be postponed, as the Kuala Berang folks visited us in Pasir Puteh Kelantan instead. InsyaAllah dalam masa terdekat kami harap lawatan kami menjadi realiti.
Madam Gold
Yes it has been a hectic but pleasant few days with a houseful of childdren and theirs. I am sure your days have been erqually joyous. Now you can start thinking about your 'catatan ku'

There will always be next time. The volumee of traffics to KT was extremely heavy. Some visitors took two hours to reach our home just 25km away.
I guess, after the hectic European tour and hari raya, it is now time to be busy with your university work.Apa buleh buat!

You sensed it right. Actually, I dread to return to work tomorrow to face the admin work. The non admin work is like pucuk dicita ulam mendatang. I cannot wait to see the proof copy of my first article published by Elsevier B.V. anytime now. That will be a moment to savour, after all the hard work and a littel prayer.
Ayah Ngah/Woh,
Selamat Hari Raya. Kali ini Karim tak sempat nak pergi jalan Raya. Minta maaf bbanyok. Sempat pergi rumah Che Ngah di Durian Burung je - itu pun dah dekat Maghrib sangat dah.
Tahun ni - sibuk kat kedai (Alam Akademik) rather than beraya. Banyak benda nak kena settle.
It was exactly a year ago today (Hijri calendar) that Ayah Ngah came to late Ummi's house. Ummi was having lunch at Rusila with me and family. We rushed back home and Ayah Ngah was made to wait. That was the last time Ayah Ngah met Ummi. And that was the last meal I had with my Ummi as I went back to KL the next day and she passed away a month later after getting a severe stroke while talking to me over the phone three days before that.
Also ... a day before Raya this year 19th September marked 14 years Pak (Ustaz Omar) passed away.
Semoga Allah mencucuri Rahmat ke atas ruh semua mereka yang telah pergi. Ameen.
Wassalam

It goes without saying your achievement is something to be viewed with envy by many professionals and academicians especially in Malaysia. Congratulations.

Indeed, we waited for you and mother, as if we knew she would leave us all 24 hours later, one year ago. And I could no longer make my usual Hari Raya visit to your father, one of my very dear and respected cousins, Ustaz Omar, for my being 24 hours too late, 19 years ago. Such is life. We remember them dearly with Alfathehah, hoping that we too would be remembered likewise.
We will meet again, insya-Allah. Our love to you and family.
