Teng Teng Teng – My mission accomplished

The newly wed couple - Hazrilullah and Zuriana

Hazri, the subject of my series, End Of The Tunnel (Pt 2) series, sent the following comment:

“ Pakcik,

Teng Teng Teng . At last, my mission has been accomplished.

Hazri Hazmi ”

Yes, indeed, this qualified mechanical engineer has accomplished his mission – acquiring himself not just a career but also a life partner.

Pakcik and Makcik attended their wedding reception last Saturday, Oct 16th. The whole kampong were there to celebrate the occasion. Sadly the one who most wanted to see his son end the family’s fisherman saga was not there. Ironicall, his grave lies a stone’s throw from the house. To him we offer Al-Fatihah, and to the newly married couple we wish a happy and successful married life with equally successful children to start another mission.

Berkhidmat kerana Tuhan untuk kemanusiaan

Dear Pakcik,
Big oaks from little acorns grow. Plainly satisfaction in seeing results is what really matters. Keep the good flag flying!

Marriage completes a man. That's all I can say. When I'm in, I'll say more.

Akhi, that 'big oaks from little acorn grows' sounds like you starting a poem.

Pok Deng, Sir,

Reading your postings one ought to know you are a man of the world. So marriage completes a man. Now he will be looking for the 'extras'.
Thank you. Hazri should read all these.

Sir Pök Déng said...

Looking for the 'extras'? Like adding a dash of horlick and milo powder into the basic ingredients of a glass of teh tarik... that will make the tea go sky-high creamy. Ha! Ha!

Wan Sharif said...

Wow that remind me of the song.. "congratulation and Celebration... There are many people who were very happy on Hazri's wedding day..
May Allah bless you and yours with good health always..

Pok Deng, Sir

I am glad you see it that way and not the other extra when you have already been given one!

Al-Manar said...

Ayah Wan,

You seem to have endless songs in your heart, the reason for your good health.

Who does not like weddings? Isn't an occasion to show off pretty dress, hairdo, shoes and handbag etc and time to meet people, plus a kitchen-free day? -- and plenty of bones, too ...

Al-Manar said...

And now comes my turn to congratulate you. How worried you were - and now you have WASTED you worries.
Actually I had hoped you would get something like 4.1, at least 4.05, breaking the all-time record.

Dear Pakcik,

Just to report your 5 sen challenge to your budding poet has come a long way...from the days of the little fledgling bird, he is certainly flying all around the world now with poetry.

In such a short span of time!

Now I see how you nurture and give the gentle nudge here and there.

It has been a great experience for me too.

We all live and learn.
But poetry, I give up!

kaykuala said...

Dear Pakcik,
I'm humbled. Ma'am is great! She's professional. She took the time and the trouble on little me. I'm grateful. Merci, double merci!

Salam to Ma'am and Pakcik

ninotaziz said...

Dear Pakcik, I can't believe you said you give up on poetry.

Dicelah jari terletak
Penamu bertinta hitam
Kau cari serentak
Mutu dan ilham

That was lovely!

Dear Hank,

I am glad to be of servce in whatever little thing I can.

While someone is brimming with feeling of gratitude, it is time to make something of it, not just five cents.

On the other hand do not try to entice me to Haiku as well. Flattery gets you nowhere with an old work horse.

Pak Cik,
Another feather on your cap, and I dedicate this to you;

Pisang Emas Masak Setandan
Diberi Makan Orang Didarat
Hutang Budi Dikandung Badan
Akan Dibawa Hingga Akhirat

Tahniah kepada Al-Manar!

kaykuala said...

Dear Pakcik,
Yes, agreed wholeheartedly, is'nt it lovely? Here it is again ( to complete what Ma'am had brought forth earlier)

Dalam dirimu terjumpa
Bakat terpendam
Jangan berlumba
Bayangan silam

Bakat mu ...

That's exactly what you had kept all to yourself all these while - Bakat mu.. Now at least you are showing us in little snippets. Never mind ! As they say, 'there's a lot more where that came from' How about it?

P/s OP Halim is also showing signs of restlessness. Wow, pantuns galore!

Marriage is not just completing a man,but every one of you is a guardian and responsible for those in his charge, the man,in his home, is a guardian and responsible for his household, the woman, concerning her husband's property,is a guardian and responsible for what she is entrusted with.
Pakcik and makcik, your presence at the wedding, made it that much more of a special occasion for me.I would thank you from the bottom of my heart to all the wishes, but for you Pakcik and Makcik my heart has no bottom.May God bless you.
