ReplyDeleteSince we're at it, a limerick rhymes as follows: The 1,2&5th lines rhyme together and are of longer lines. The 3&4th rhyme together and are of shorter lines. It comes with some humour sometimes. Two of my old limericks as given below:
A fellow was planning to wed
One who was playing hard to get
Try as he might
With all he had
Excepting him the rest she grabbed
A woman was putting on airs
Not young but attractive and fair
Sniggers all round
Made her frown
For being taken for an old mare

ReplyDeleteMy apology for delaying responding to your comments. Of late I seem to have more and more comments missed out only to be discovered later, a couple of them a few months. To me it is unforgivable.
After a few days of dry and hot weather all the leave begin to give way to flowers which finally replaces all the leaves. Later yooung leaves begin to appear and take over. I feel certain the weather does it especially when the two of us delay watering whe we hear thunders - bila dengar guruh dilangit sydrom!

ReplyDeleteDear AHS,you call yours 'pantun dua rangkap'. So Cikgu Humari's must be 'pantun satu rangkap'. The alternate rythm of your second rangkap is like Cikgu Humairi's only rangkap. Your first rangkap has similar rythm for all for lines.
Now, the English one,that called 'limerick' by our friend Kaykuala is different altogether.
Well I am learning, albeit a bit too late.

Istilah dalam Bahasa Melayu digunapakai sebagai limerik atau maksudnya lima baris ayat (lucu)/ sajak 5 baris.
Saya mengistilahkannya sebagai limalirik.....bolehkot???

salam, en route sending my only girl cucu to school, she spied two trees in full blossom, one was pink, the other off- white complimenting each otherand forming two canopies up about 60ft from the ground. They stood majestic outside the entrance of Bukit Jalil Technology Park.
ReplyDeleteShe is 8 and hardly artist material but she appreciated the beauty of the sceene.`Pokok tu dah bunga ya, Wan'I love these trees, though not like I marvel at the Japanese Cherry Blossoms.
Your leafless bloom reminded me of those flowers. Life has so many beautiful panorama in store especially when one is tired and mid-day fast hungry!

You are welcome to call again and leave comments. Regretfully I am simply ignorant on how to get to your blog entries. The needs to 'join Google' and so on baffles me. It sounds like joining an exclusive club whilst my blog is open freely to all.
I hope you have had a lovely day today with children and cucus. I had my ten cucus giving life to this otherwise a quiet home of an aged couple.
You have to sibs in Chukai. That sounds like work connected with oil industry. Take a drive to Chukai and go a bit further to where we are.

Thanks cikgu, my siblings oldies amd mouldies like me. The one in cukai a pencen school teacher, followed my brother, who married a soft- spoken gem-hearted ustazah fr Pasir Gajah. They moved to their own home in Kijal.
